21 Days Tax

    So I bought a car 21 days ago today and the tax was out when I bought it.

    Must I tax it or put it off the road to avoid paying back tax by tonight? Can I declare it OTR online?


    Also will the NCT centre check if its off the road. I don't care about getting caught as the centre is very close to my home.

    You are only liable for the tax from the date it was transferred into your name.

    It's the middle of the month now so you will have to back date to Oct Ist.

    You can tax it or declare off road online.

    Must be declared otr within 21 days.


    NCT do not care if it is taxed or not.


    You left it very late tbh, not sure of the deadline.

    When you plan to test it? The waiting times are huge (up to few months now depending on the test centre).

    I got a date 2 days after the day I booked it. No hassle if you keep looking for cancellations
