Can I camp on eye square ?

I am coming down from Mayo for a night out. Hotels are over 200 Euro, Can't book a hostel as they don't do Saturday night bookings.

I think I am just going to camp on eye square. I will be locked anyway so I won't really notice the cold or wet. Anyone envisage an issue with this ?

I don't see any issue with camping there .. it will be relatively quiet on a Saturday night and well away from the all the antisocial behaviour in Galway. Not a chance of any drunken passer-by's who might think about doing something stupid to a random tent.

Apologies yes Eyre square. Okay point taken. maybe go out one of the roads a bit. Do you know any estates with a green near the center where I can camp ?

Best place to camp is on Loughatsalia Rd. Quiet there and if you pick the righ spot, tent won't be seen from footpath.

presuming the question is legit, you’d be moved on if you pitched in Ayre square.

You can camp in Rusheen park, near Barna Woods, behind the Texaco. There is a No Camping sign but a number of families (of minor ethicity with Offaly and mid land car/van registrations) camped there 3 or 4 times this summer (2022), and nothing was done or said about it by the council or gardaí.
