Replacing heat pump with oil boiler!

Our heat pump looks to have come a cropper and to be honest it never heated our house sufficiently. Probably not insulated enough to be fair. What are people's thoughts on going for an oil(possibly hvo) boiler? I think it suits our needs better.

Is it a case of just swapping out the flow/return connections on our buffer tank and attaching them to the oil boiler?

Anyone who wants to guess a price for boiler(thinking grant vortex 90-120 model), standard tank and installation to existing pipework, I'd be keen to hear.

Thanks. That's about what I thought but I reckon we are/would be spending a good part of that on electricity with the HP and it still wasn't warm. I know I'd still have to pay for the oil but at least it should be warm when we need it? Fixing up an old unsuited HP seems to be throwing good money after bad?

Anyone ditched a heat pump and regretted it?

Only if you use all brand new stuff and sit down on a 3-legged stool while someone else does the work
