Expos - what they are likely to sell

I've run a couple of marathons already but never really spent much time in the expos for any of them. This time around I'm thinking of leaving it to the expo to buy a couple of things, namely caffeine tablets and salt tablets. Both strike me as common enough running related items but I wanted to ask others who have had experience with buying things in expos, are these likely to be sold at expos? I know it's a general question and you can't say for all expos but if they've been bought by anyone at an expo that would be good to know.

It's the 4k station I worry about though.

I always find them pretty useless, to be honest. It's the day or 2 days before the race you've been training for, for weeks, you probably had to travel to it unnecessarily and queue just to pick a number that could just as easily be posted: why would you want to worry on top of that about picking up gear that may not be there on the day?

So, no, expos are the bane. The best ones focus try to put on interesting talks and have perhaps many foreign marathons advertising with very attractive promises that you won't travel to...

Nutrition:Gels, vitamins, protein (Gu, Maurten, SIS, Clif, etc.)

Clothing: Shoes, socks, other running apparel, (Usual brands, Nike, Adidas, Asics, etc.)

Running gadgets: Garmin watches, Aeropex headphones

Recovery: Massage guns, sports tape, foam rollers

I've seen caffeine gels and salt tabs. Not sure about caffeine tablets.

Thanks all, what I figured but was trying to figure out whether I should risk it or buy whatever I need in advance. I actually don't mind expos, but living in Dublin the one for DCM isn't too much hassle for me, and for marathons abroad I find they add to the experience.

I personally wouldn't wait until the expo to get what you need. If you're in Dublin pop into Run Hub.
