Hi, I'm not sure if this is the right place or not, feel free to move...

I'm trying to book parking in Dublin for a one night trip in December and I'm being quoted €78 for the short term car park. Is this for real?? I thought I had booked for a week by mistake and thought that was steep, but no, one night only.

    What am I missing?

I'm told since Quick Park closed, things have become a bit grim. Go for the car park out beyond Ballymuns GAA pitch, that's the cheapest I believe.

You must have tried to book for 2 days. It's €37.95 for one day.

Red car park is €11.50 for one day. You just need to allow about 15 minutes to get to the terminal.

Short term is intended for very short term, hence the price. DAA really don't want anyone parking within the airport campus IMO

The closer you are to the terminals the more you pay for the convenience

    Options are; T1 Short Term A - €77.95, T1 Short Term C - €52, T2 Short Term - €49.40

Would never choose to park in the short term for anything more than an hour or so

Long Term Red & Blue can both be used for overnight stays at a more reasonable, but still pricey, €20-24.50

The steam finally stopped coming out of my ears long enough to book long term blue for €19. We won't have checked luggage so hopefully the weather isn't too bad on the day - that car park is a bit of a chore in the rain.

Just for curiosity, I checked the prices for the same length of stay in Shannon and Cork airports - the most expensive for the closest parking (1-2 minutes walk to the terminal) was €38 in Shannon and €20.85 in Cork.

Thanks for the comments - yes, it's a two day trip 🎅, we did look at leaving the car with friends or offsite carparks but travelling from Kerry for an early morning flight, it didn't seem worth the hassle.
