WPA3 compatible smart plugs

Hi all,

I've a couple of old smart plugs that are used for the Xmas lights every year but last Christmas I couldn't get them to work - turns out they are not compatible with WPA 3 and I'd turned that on on my home network since the previous Xmas. In the end I just changed down to WPA 2 for the Xmas hols and changed back up again after. Not ideal.

Anyone out there with a WPA3 network and working smart plugs willing to recommend a make/model?

WPA3 should be backwards compatible, if you enable it in your router?

Any WPA3 device should connect as such, and any that isn't, it should fallback to WPA2 and just work. So both would run simultaneously. This is what I am doing on my home network without issues.

I use a few TP-Link Tapo plugs. They seem to support WPA3.

I know it should 😀.... Unfortunately it's not the case with the plugs I have. When home net is WPA 2, zero problems they can connect and I can see/use them. But when I change the net to WPA 3 the plugs can't connect or be used.

picked up a TP-Link Tapo and works perfectly on net -- cheers @donspeekinglesh
