    Hi

So my oil boiler needs to be replaced. I live in an end terrace built circa 2000. Have had walls pumped and attic done but apart from that it's the original windows etc. I'm not mad on going with a new oil boiler due to potential high costs of oil into the future, but am not at a stage where I could look to rip up floors to do underfloor heating etc. Is a new oil boiler the only practical option? Not on gas line btw

Try air to water heat pumps. You can get 6500 euro grant’s. Check SEA Iwebsite

You will need to improve insulation /air tightness for a heat pump to be successful. I think the minimum requirement is a B rating. Heat pumps can't heat up the water as hot as a gas/oil boiler. Because the rads will be much cooler you will need to increase the rad size. Rough rule of thumb is double the rad size.
