Re-doing ensuite. I have studs in. I was planning on using marine ply then tanking then tiling. But after some research I've got cold feet, as a lot of people are v against plywood in the bathroom.

Surely marine ply is better than plasterboard (moisture magnet)??

I know there's cement backer boards but I'd prefer to work with ply if possible.

    What do you guys recommend.??

Also, if going ahead with ply, should I use 12mm or 18mm.?

Just to be clear, I haven't done this, but if I was doing a shower I'd be using a backer board rather than any ply. I'd certainly be using backer board in the shower area, but elsewhere I'd price-up ply versus backer board.

Have you also considered these shower systems? https://www.schluter.co.uk/drains-and-shower-systems.aspx Good demos on Youtube, etc.
