Mudguard advice

I'm looking to put a set of mudguards on the bike I keep in my classroom.

It's a mid 90's Giant Cadex, running 23's with not much clearance.

I'd like to have full mudguards on to make it useable during the winter, as I would exclusively cycle it in my work clothes.

There are no mounting points on the frame.

Any recommendations for a suitable set?

P clips would be the way to go, or else sks raceblade longs have more coverage than the regular pros but can be a bit fiddly to fit

Both the above are designed to fit on close clearance frames but it can sometimes be a leap of faith that they'll fit when you buy them. The PDWs are very robust (as they are metal) but quite spendy.

how much clearance is there between the front tyre and the crown of the fork (the vertical distance)? i suspect that will be your biggest enemy.

The SKS should solve any clearance concerns unless it’s extremely tight.

I use these on a giant TCR, hvae had to cut the back one a little as it doesn't fit between the rear stays. Use the extension you can get for it too to extend the length of the rear. Find them very good, only ones I could get decent coverage with on a TCR.

they had two sets of raceblades i think accidentally reduced to €35 in decathlon recently.

Could anyone confirm whether I'd still need the p clips above?

Nope the raceblades are designed for bikes without eyelets, you'd only use the p clips if you wanted to create points for guards that use eyelets to mount to your frame

Raceblades are anchored on each side the axle skewer so no need for the P clips. (They can be removed/fitted in seconds).
