Walking on roof

    Would it be ok to walk on roof like this if kept to area in red?

    first one yes but i wouldnt , too easy to damage slates or lead if valley is not great .

    2nd one yes unless its rotting

    Risk of death high. I used to be blase about this sort of stuff until I had a fall.

    Use safety ropes. I use large soft cushions to protect tiles. Old tiles break and crack easily if you walk on them

    Tie rope to chimney or some other stable part of the building

    Getting up on the roof is the easy bit ,,getting down isn't as easy , l wouldn't attempt it

    Make sure ladder is secure tied to something stable you should have someone to help you

    And to hold the ladder while you go up and down the ladder
