Civil ceremony questions

    Hiya

My partner and I are planning to get married next summer, on a Monday. We live in the North and I've been in touch with the registrar in the area we want to marry and she has sent an email with a postal form to send as our intention to marry. We would then need to go down five working days before with our documents etc.

I have a couple of questions though. Does the registrar perform the ceremony? We are wanting to get married around 5km from their office and understand there will be extra fees for this. Do we need to find someone else to perform the ceremony? What about times etc cos Ill need to know that when doign the invitations.

Just trying to figure stuff and get things moving!

    Thanks.

Just to clarify, are you planning to get married in the North or Republic of Ireland? The legal processes are very different between the two, I believe.
