    Hi,

    Hoping someone can help.

what are my options for a family car / suv, to carry for 4 kids under 6? (plus parents)

I was looking at the Nissan X Trail - but just found out that back seats can only be used with no booster seat - so child needs to be over 10 (i think) before can use back seats : no good to us.

What other options do i have?

    year range 2015 - 2020

    Price range under €20k

I've a VW Touran for 3 small kids, love it. All 5 rear seats are isofix, but you will be down to half a boot when you pop up one seat for kid 4, if I was you I'd look at the bigger ones Sharan, Galaxy etc. the big boot is very handy.

Id second the post above, with 4 kids you need the bigger people carrier for comfort. VW Sharan, Seat Alhambra, Ford Galaxy & Ford SMax.

I doubt your budget with stretch to any of the SUV type 7 seaters. Some of the van derived people carriers may be worth a look too.

We have the Citreon C4 Grand Picasso and have carried 2 adults and 4 kids in it, you are limited by the boot space remaining.

Stay with MPV and not SUV/Crossover would be recommendation

We are looking into the same thing. Sharan and Alhambra are nice but expensive and they aren't many of them. We are between the Ford Galaxy and Smax but we will probably go for the Galaxy as think the Smax third row will be too small. If you are in the Dublin area it might be no harm to go to 7seater.ie to look at the different options.

The Galaxy is huge, massive amount of space. I had one years ago and we put 7 adults into it with comfort. Drawback, well you are driving a transit van

We had a SMAX before that and it was so much nicer to drive plus loads of room. To be honest if under 6 I would go SMAX all day long. If not then try Alhambra if possible as much more like a car to drive. But the SMAX was a car we should of never sold

Yeah thanks for that information. We're going to go looking at them again. Our kids are tall so I think the SMAX will be out. We don't use our car a massive amount so I don't think the Galaxy will be that bad.

Galaxy is king for space, driving experience not so much :-)

If Galaxy you need to test Alhambra, the Sharan is just the Alhambra in VW clothes. Trying to get a good one is the problem with any of these.
