Blocked pipe due to water softener resin

Looking for anyone who might have had a similar issue. Our water softener resin leaked out and has caused our mains pipe to be completely blocked with the resin beads. Softener has been fixed so no further resin escaping. Water is flowing perfectly from attic down to all taps, toilets etc. It is the main pipe from kitchen to fill tanks that seems to be badly blocked. Local plumber tried to clear it with approx 10m of rods, which did clear out some resin but no water flow at all. He is coming back with more rods on the off chance pipe is longer than 10m! Just wondered if anyone else had this issue and how was it cleared?
