Preliminary tax - any form to fill in, or do you just pay it?

Having moved back to Ireland in 2020, am now doing my 2021 tax return for some foreign rental income, and am expecting to need to pay preliminary tax also.

I can't find any mention of any form that you fill in to say what preliminary tax you're paying, how you decided to calculate it (90% of expected, 100% of last year etc.) Is there an online form on ROS, or do you just... make an extra payment, on top of your 2020 tax liability, without any explanation, and it just feeds through to be balanced against next year?

The preliminary tax is not on the Form11, but when you submit the Form11 you will be asked to complete a Statment of Net Liabilities and on that screen you enter the amount of preliminary tax and then pay the total of balancing tax for 2020 and preliminary tax for 2021

Thanks! I've submitted the tax return online - I don't remember seeing anything for entering prelim tax then - but they're processing my Statement of Liability, so I'm guessing when that's ready, telling me how much I owe for 2020, I'll be asked to verify that and there'll be an option then to enter what I owe for 2021. Makes sense - cheers!
