Looking for a bit of information regarding Air B&B..

Do people rent out a room in your house for lets say a weekend if the owner is still in the house?

Is it assumed the house is unoccupied?

    Thanks

There's two types. Entire property or a room in a family house.

Entire property lets are bound by legislation and require planning permission.

Lots of people rent out a room at the weekend, while they are still there too.

You can let rooms in an occupied property and even beds in shared rooms on AirBnB if you want to. Only properties let under the "Entire place" category on AirBnB would provide exclusive occupation of the property in question.
