Where to buy beef tallow in Dublin?

I've been searching online and asking nearby butchers but never found one. Where can I find beef tallow or even beef fat trimmings so I can render the fat myself? Help please as I'm trying to remove vegetable oil from my diet.

I'm sure any butcher that cuts meat and isn't a pre pack shop should have fattrimmings at least. Have you considered duck or goose fat for your change? Can get both in tesco

You can buy a block of beef fat in Dunnes. It's usually in the fridges near the beef.

I guess I have to talk to more butchers. I don't want a duck or goose fat because they are usually grain fed. Their fat won't be as healthy as pure beef fat.

Thanks. I saw it there but unfortunately it's not a pure beef fat. It's mixed with vegetable oil and that's a no no for me.

James Whelan butchers do it. And Dunnes stock it...I have used in the past, unless they have changed it

That's the stuff like Frytex, that says pure beef on the front but lists rapeseed oil on the actual ingredient list, that's in a different fridge with the cream. But in the fridge with the beef you'll find a block of pure beef dripping. I'm not home now to say for sure but I'm pretty sure it's the James Whelan one. It's really, really good. Well worth the price as it's not only healthier but it makes the most insanely good roast potatoes.

Thanks! Haven't checked the beef section properly. Will have a better look next time!

I buy beef dripping at FX Buckley on Moore Street. The brand is "Hazlemere Fine Foods". It is 100% beef dripping, although it doesn't say on the labelling whether it is from grass-fed or corn-fed cattle. I recently emailed them to ask and am yet to receive a response.

I don't think there are any cattle that haven't been fed some grain. Having said that, most Irish cattle feed on mostly grass.
