    Hi

I am getting an Error message when I zoom out my 24-105 lens. It says that "Communication between the camera & the lens is faulty. Clean the Lens Contacts"

I have used a cotton bud with some Isopropol to try to clean it but so far it has not helped.

The lens works fine as long as I don't zoom out beyond about 30mm.

I've looked at youtube videos & so far can't see anything extra to do.

Any suggestions as to what to do.

    Thank you

    Hi

Early this year I was abroad in Taiwan I had the same problem with Canon 24-105 lens, I tried the fixes mentioned online but nothing worked. My research indicated it needed to be serviced

I took it to an Official Canon reparir shop, who quoted me 150 euro just to check to see what the issue was and then I would get another cost to repair. I had this lens for over 10 years and decided to not proceed with the official Canon repair shop, I googled around for local camera repar shops, found one with a lot of positive results, took it in then there and paid approx 100 Euro to fix, its been fine since then, but if it goes again its time to replace.

Best of luck I hope you get it resolved.
