Want somewhere close to bars, shops etc. looking for a relaxing holiday with a few beers. Looking to stay all inclusive hotel to keep costs down. Flight are mad expensive at the minute best to book now or wait?

Flight prices won't drop if at all.....The days of cheap flights are over for a while with fuel costs / recouping from Covid.

If your looking to relax not much difference in both places.....Might be a few more people in your age bracket in Lanzarote I'd say.

As above poster said prices will not drop now.Oct and Nov are the mths for all in hotel deals. The deals are higher in price from mid Dec into early Jan.As for Lanzarote be careful of Matagorda and Playa del Pocillos addresses as they are far away and quiet(ret taxi trips)from the busy areas of Puerto del Carmen.Matagorda is right beside the airport and P del P next to it.Other accom by Irish travel agents are on a steep hill about the old town of P del Carmen-ok going out and downhill. No so good after a meal and drinks.

Matagorda is a €5er in a taxi, or a quick 10 minute eScooter down the prom. Ideal location.

    Thy are both kips.

    Do you even sunbathe?

Go somewhere that you and your brother will genuinely enjoy and get a nice experience from. Why don't you fly to mainland Africa and spend a week touring the West Coast of Morroco? Possibly half the price and better, more settled weather. Take in famous places like Casablanca, Rabat or Agadir. Discover ancient civilisations and fantastic ecosystems, amazing wildlife and natural off the plant hashish. You can take a 4 wheel drive trekking in the Sahara Desert for less than € 100.

Much better than hanging around some trashy Irish pub drinking cheap lager and chatting up hookers.

A desert especially out of high season. Can probably meet your grannys best friend there.Better to be based nearer the old town end of the prom and no worries about taxiis or scooters and losing drinking or kebab money on transport every day/night.It's a healthy walk though into old town from Matagorda-lose a few kilos on hols not add them

A bit awkward but price the flights from UK.

Going to fly from London so much cheaper and got a hotel for €400 in Tenerife for two of us for 6 nights!

You could also look at Fuerteventura.

Coralejo has plenty going on and has quite a few options on all-inclusive deals. I am heading there in October myself.

Most of the hotels are central to the resort - taxi from the airport is about 50 quid and takes 30-40 minutes.

Don't go to playa blanca in Lanzarote - zero night life, even in high season

Tenerife is far from a kip.

    Morocco on the other hand........

Can you be more precise about the cheap beer and hookers. Asking for a friend.

Curious about Morocco. We head to the Canaries quite a bit and was thinking of a change in March to Morocco probably Agadir. I take it you are not recommending?

on Lanzer V Tenerife I like both but if you’re planning on touring about there’s probably more to do on Tenerife As it’s a much bigger island and there’s quite the co yeast between the lush north and the barren south.

Lovely place, great sights and savage food. There is a serious undertone of criminality though, everywhere you go.

Thieves, pickpockets, muggers, fake taxis, police needing to be bribed when they see you're European etc. Like being in a (more) backward, Sharia law version of Eastern Europe at times. Women getting hassled on the beaches by locals, others for wearing beachwear in areas that are just off the beach. They use their left hand for wiping after going to the toilet, so that's considered unclean to eat with etc. Squat toilets everywhere, as are scammers and fraudsters. Increased risk of terrorism as well. Can't speak ill of the monarchy or the religion etc. Most people are lovely, but those that aren't can be dangerous.

None of that in Tenerife, really. Calling it a kip cos there's a few tacky Irish / British bars is way off the mark. Everywhere you look online about Morocco (and most of North Africa, to be fair) advises you of what to do, where to go/stay away from and what to avoid doing when visiting. Worth going, but you need to be on guard when out in public, all the time, every time.

I've never seen an article named "What NOT to do in Playa de Las Americas"

Thanks very much for taking the time to reply to me. You’ve probably made our decision a lot easier.

re Tenerife I think Theresa bit of snobbery from some people when it comes to the island as if they are almost too good to go there because it’s full of drunken British or something crazy. It’s a fabulous island full of contrasts great shopping restaurants beaches and weather and still value for money. All things sadly lacking in Ireland

I'd go back to Tenerife but can't say the same about Lanzarote.

The only way I'd go back to Lanzarote is if I was a keen cyclist.

In Tenerife at the moment weather is brilliant. 1200 for the two of us flights and accommodation for ten days. Try loveholidays.

Covid certs not necessary flying in anywhere on the canaries.

And taxis and healthcare settings such as pharmacies. It applies to all the Canary Islands, not just Lanzarote

Just back from Tenerife. Stayed in Alexandre La Siesta hotel in Playa de las Americas. Great hotel very central so close to everything (bars, shops, restaurants). Highly recommended. Weather the past week 26-28 degrees everyday.

Had never been to Tenerife before would definitely go back again lovely places to switch off and relax.

All of the pharmacies in Correlajo have a sign up saying mask required. Haven't seen a customer wearing one yet tbh. All the staff in them are wearing masks though.

There is zero mad nightlife in Fuerteventura, not sure if there is even a nightclub on the island, Corralejo would probably suit, best beaches are just outside the town though but I prefer the south of the island, Morro Jable, quieter than Corralejo but better beaches

live open air music in Corralejo every evening, bars will have live music too

No interest in Caleta or Costa Calma

In Corralejo we only stay at the Riu Tres Isla, quiet old hotel but on a great beach, taxi to town will be €10 approx
