Joining guards with a drink driving conviction

Hi everyone. Just wondering has anyone got into the guards with a drink driving offense. The offense was 8 years ago and I am about to sit the interview but was told I dont have a hope of getting in with the conviction. I havent been in trouble since. Thanks

After 7 years it's a spent conviction. Obviously the Gaurds will have a record of it happening so be honest about it. However we are all different people than we were 8 years ago and everyone makes mistakes so it may not be as detrimental to your chances as you think. Best of luck.
