Looking for advice on bucket list item ...

Thinking of going to see the Northern Lights for my birthday in January flying from Dublin but doesn't have to be that airport.

Probably going on my own but will throw it out to friends to see if anyone interested.

    What I'd like to ask..

    1. Anyone gone there

    2. Do you recommend travel agent or DIY

    3. Hotel recommended

    4. Tour recommended

    5. Any other information

    Thanks in advance

I’d recommend using a good aurora predictor app and keeping an eye on activity. If it’s the lights you specifically want to see, it’s worth booking last minute and spending a bit extra, rather then planning ahead and just being cold.

Thanks for that .. that is a huge factor but hopefully it'll be around January but in reality doesn't have to be then exactly .. will keep researching but have to sleep .. 7am isn't far away ;)

Around the equinox’s are often better for activity and weather.
