Its my first post here in many years but I fell duty bound to report this. I just read this in the Irish Mirror.

Thomas Bubendorfer was struck by a car in Madrid last Tuesday doing what he has always loved : running . He tragically passed away .

Thomas was a regular contributor to the Athletics Forum here for many years . His advice was invaluable , his Posts were amazing and his Blog was at times scary to read ! Regular 100 mile weeks while working in a busy job and being a devote Husband and Father . ( Rubbishrunner.blogspot.com )

My running adventure finished in about 2014 : injury but mostly laziness . Thankfully I met and ran with Thomas on a number off occasions , these are still fresh memories : unfortunately I cannot remember the exact years . I'm getting old ! Donadea 50k , Connemara Ultra Marathons 2012 and 2013 ( I think ) and 24 hour race in Belfast 2014 ( I think ) where he finished second . We also were pacers for the Dublin Marathon on a couple off occasions .

I was actually thinking to myself last week , its time to buy a new pair off runners , get out on the road and run again . Being Honest , i was at my happiest when I was running , the Mental and Physical benefits are invaluable . Now I feel duty bound to get on the roads again .

Apologies for the quality off my writing , it's just a short tribute to a very well liked , very well respected and a legend off the A/R/T Forum's on Boards .

Thomas , Rest in Peace .

My condolence's to your loving Wife, and Children .

    Liam
