Roof leak damage

Recently moved into a house and after the recent downpours have discovered a leak, turns out some flashing on the roof of a small one storey toilet extension at the back was damaged. Water seemed to be making its way down the wall between the back of the house and the extension and coming out at the foot of a doorway frame, where on closer inspection shows some rot damage. I got the roof fixed today. And I’m just wondering once water gets in the walls or the wood will it now dry out or will it just continue to rot?

    Thanks
