I was looking at flights at the end of May to Barcelona, and end of June to Italy. Flights seem mega money both Ryanair and Aer Lingus.

Is it too early to be booking?

have you checked something like skyscanner where you can compare the airlines and they show you how it works if you mix and match ?

I am seeing €112 return with Ryanair for DUB-BCN from the Thursday night till Monday morning of the last weekend in May which is reasonable enough for a 2.5 hour each way, or 3000km round trip .

For even more work friendly times, you can get Friday evening to Sunday evening flights for €180 which isnt all that bad.

As for booking in advance... hard to know. They normally have medium high prices when flights come out first 330 days before the date, as theres ALWAYS a heap of trigger happy customers with a wedding or time share or some reason they have to have a flight booking, so makes sense to relieve them of their cash and nervousness that they wont get a seat on those particular dates.

The prices should then move into a demand related pattern from then with less booked flights becoming cheaper (aside from Cork Munich flights which seem to just be set at 150+ each way regardless of when you book as there must be enough Ski loving doctors and lawyers and Apple execs in Cork with deep pockets )
