Changing tyres and looking for something quieter than Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050

    Hi

I have Dunlop SP Sport Maxx 050's (235/45R18 94Y) tyres on a 2019 Camry. I need to change them, and although they seem to be a good tyre and are long lasting, they can be very noisy on any kind of rough road surface. Are there any recommendations for something equivalent that might be a bit quieter?

    Many thanks

I went with Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 6 tyres for my Golf today saved €120 by checking prices from different tyre dealers for 4 tyres . The website above is a great source for information on choosing the right tyres for your car ..

If you can find the old Debica Presto UHP 2 in your size, go for them, even though they are near 50% more expensive than the price of the new version, because they have a staggeringly low noise level rating of 66db, which is unreal for an A wet rated tyre. The new version are B rated and the noise level is 70db. A 3db difference in noise level is perceptually a 50% difference, so a tyre that's 6db noisier than another, is twice as noisy. The old ones which I still have on the car, are the quietest tyre that I have ever had. I did a lot of research to specifically find the quietest tyre I could that still had an A wet rating.

Your tyres look to have a 71db rating, making them around 90% noiser than the Debicas. Debica is owned by Goodyear.
