Monitor Electricity

We plan to run an electrical supply from main house “consumer unit/fuse box” to an external building that will be used for one of the “kids” to live in.

What Options are out there to accurately measure electricity consumption on that power feed. We are also on a day/night meter but could just monitor total usage if too complicated.

would be planning for kid to pay for the electricity they use.

    thanks

You can install a meter on supply going to the other building. This is your meter and has nothing to do with your energy provider. It's usually known as a landlord meter. I'm not sure if there are modern versions that can record day/night
