I appear to have lost BBC2 HD for London plus others. [No signal]

    BBC 1 for London is OK [100% Q 70 S]

I would guess, from scanning that it is all V polarised stations. It is the same on different TVs so probable the LNB side of things. Not sure which are high band and which are low band.

    Any ideas?

The hi-band lo-band splits at 11.7 GHz. Almost all the BBCs are lo-band.

Assuming all receivers are directly connected to the LNB?

Physically check the LNB plastic feedhorn cover for cracking that would allow moisture ingress. Also security of cable connection.

Could be just an internal LNB fault.

It appears to be back to normal . I have not checked fully, but the missing channels are back.

The only common part between the two TVs is the LNB and the satellite. I don't have a long enough ladder to check the satellite, so I assume I must restrict my investigations to the LNB. It was all vertical polarisations channels that were affected. I am tuned to London Freesat, and the missing channels were all vertical with no signal at all.

It did rain a lot on Saturday - first time in ages (like Christmas). Anyway, I will just wait for it to fail again.

I just checked all the freesat channels up o 200 (London Freesat), and all with the exceptions of a few minor channels have aquality of 100% but all channels above 90%. Signal strength was between 45% to 65%.

So either there was water ingress into the LNB or the signal from the satellite was at fault. No-one else appears to have a problem, so probably the LNB.

    Hi,

I think The Cush is on the money with his diagnosis of your problem, I had the exact same issues as you and it got progressively worse after rain, turned out be a hairline crack in lnb feedhorn cover.

OK I'll look at the LNB.

It is not easy but I will have to. We have had very little rain since Christmas. Saturday was the most rain since then.
