SSE direct debit nightmare

    I have been on hold with SSE for over 40 minutes now. I just want to update my direct debit information. What will happen if they go to take the money out of an account which is now closed? Is there any penalty for me? Will they call me then so I can update my details?

    Update: they finally answered after an hour.
