Hi folks, basic question here and apologies if wrong place. Removed a bayonette lightbulb from a ball shaped bathroom fixture, tried inserting new bulb but won't fit, tried to put old bulb back in and when I tried I noticed a pin had fallen off it, any ideas on how to remove it without electrocuting myself!!

Sounds like the fitting needs replacing. Its a DIY job for anyone that is a competent DIYer (note you don't need to retain an electrician). However if you need to ask that sort of question I think you probably need to get an electrician to replace the fitting. Less than €5 worth of materials plus call out charge and hourly rate.

Edit> A picture of the fitting in its damaged state would confirm what needs doing.

Wake me up when it's all over.
