Noise from neighbour's conversion

I live in a detatched house in an estate. My neighbour next door also has a detatched house. A while back, they seem to have converted the shed running alongside the house to domestic use. The problem is, now I hear their appliances going off at all hours, and I do mean all hours. For my previous job, I was getting up at 5-6am and I could hear their drier belting it out after midnight. I get up for breakfast these days and all I hear is their machines. I live in a detatched house and a price premium was paid for the extra quiet, but now that's gone.

10 years ago they built a big kitchen extension at the back of their house, they knocked in about that one, originally wanting to build onto the wall which according to the deeds of my house is solely mine. Advise I was given was that if my neighbour were to do that, my house could structurally no longer be considered as detatched. I calmly and respectfully communicated that to them and they hit the roof, ignored me for a year and modified their extension. It also took a lot of light out of my back garden (no right to this, I'm aware).

I genuinely don't care what they do, as long as it doesn't affect my property value or general enjoyment of it, I've never done anything to affect their value or enjoyment.

The noise issue - does anyone know about this? If nothing else, I might end up putting my domestic appliances in my shed and exchange the noise.

I assume you mean they've converted the Garage to residential use. What is the construction of the garage walls, assume two layers of block/brick.

How close is the wall of their garage to the wall of your house?

Was this a garden wall, or a wall to your house? Detach has nothing to be be structure btw

With the shed that they built along the side fo their house, matching my own, what they seem to have done is created a second wall immediately next to my boundary garden wall.

I don't know how sound travels through materials and I'd love to let them do whatever they want, but I can hear the damn machines through the walls now.
