An online magazine used a photo from a friend of mine's twitter with the credit photo from twitter@his name to illustrate a story. is this a breach of copyright? he does not seem bothered i am just curious

i understand there is a difference between posting and embedding. is embedding just the link you need to click on in a story and posting the image visible without clicking?
