Unlikely and also be very very very careful about what a door to door salesperson says.
But if you have not switched supplier for over 12 months, then switch immediately. And then switch every 12 months.
It literally takes less than 5 minutes online - you simply need your mprn number, meter reading and bank details. And unless you are very slow at using a keyboard, it is about 3-4 minutes to complete the switch.

Similarly if you are with energia or SSE for over 12 months - Switch. and Switch again in 12 months and again 12 month after etc etc
