    Hi all,

Quick question, I paid for the dental hygienist for a routine scale and polish not realising I could have used my PRSI. Is there a way to get a refund/claim it back?

    Thanks for any help

Happens all the time, contact the clinic, they will check your eligibility when you give them your PPS number. If you do qualify for the Hygienist visit, the clinic will refund you €42.

But be aware, you have no entitlement to a refund, they would be doing this as a courtesy as you did not avail of your PRSI entitlement at the time treatment was provided.

If you want to check yourself if you have paid enough contributions to qualify, you can phone the Dept of Social and Family Affairs in Letterkenny and ask them to look it up on their system.
