Informing the DSP of a holiday

I certainly haven't got the means to go away on my own, but a relative just told me that he'd paid for a trip to Italy in a few weeks time. Obviously very excited, but need to inform the DSP.

How do I go about doing that? And can I expect to have them crawling up my behind for bank statements before I go, or after I come back?

I'm on a Disability Allowance if that means anything

    Thanks
