Flying into/out of Manchester

Looking at possibly going over to Manchester in early october. I've heard and read horror stories of delays getting through security earlier in the summer. Anyone have any up to date experience of the trip? I'm guessing that flying in wouldn't be an issue (hand luggage only). It's the return trip that'd concern me.

I did a transfer there last month. Tui flew into T2 and then we walked to T3 for Ryanair to Dublin. Was quite a walk, but no real issue. Who are you flying with?

If you're flying into and leaving T3 at Manchester? I did it with 3 others in July/aug.

Arrival even with luggage was grand, we were out fairly quickly. Departure a different story, dropping bags at bag drop went on but the security situation was very congested. Pig pen run by pigs would be a polite description. Over 90minutes to go from entering queue to passing security.

Did it in early June, day trip from Dublin. No delays in Manchester at all. TUI problems were the bulk of the issues in Manchester this summer

Yep couldn't agree more about the pigs bit.

Not me directly but the way I hear them speak to people is unbelievable.

Flew home ex Manchester via ryanair terminal 3 , Tuesday afternoon this week .

I arrived 2 hours before my flight , queue was sizeable but was through security in 30 minutes .

Manchester airport security staff all need a course in customer service , always been the case with them in my opinion, absolutely no regard or respect for travelling public .

The queue on Tuesday started to increase due to match goers heading home , in fairness they quickly opened up new security lanes to reduce the queue .

Flight delays always expected there too , but in fairness it seems the norm everywhere now

Humble apologies; forgot to say, it will be with Ryanair, so will be using terminal 3 in Manchester.

Last time I went through (which was a couple of months ago) I booked fast track - due to my experience the previous time, so I can't give a recent update re times. What I can do is agree with the others above. The staff there are the most obnoxious I have ever met in any airport. I do what I have to do and don't engage whatsoever. That includes no 'pleases' and no 'thank yous'. I simply blank them

Did it a few weeks back and was no issue but this was with hand luggage. Went into T3 and into the city centre. No complaints.
