Heifer Mastitis

As the title suggests, I have a maiden heifer with mastitis.

What do people find works best - antibiotic, stripping the quarter, tubes and Stockholm tar or do ye bother with the latter two?

My vet suggested that they are finding the tubes aren't as effective now.

    What's people's opinions.

First time I've had a maiden get it, flies are bad at the minute. Wrong side for my crush and she is not a cooperative heifer.

What's coming out is pure curdled and bits of blood - does it sound like I'm too late to be able to fix it?
