Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Donating old glasses? Anywhere accepting them?

Are there any charities or organizations that accept old pairs of glasses?

Pre COVID times, some opticians used to accept them to donate them to charity, but this seems to no longer be the case.

    Amy suggestions?

Its not done anymore (nor were they actually directly reused for ages either)

They can buy new glasses to the correct prescription cheaper than the cost of cleaning, testing, sorting and shipping second hand ones now.

So for the past decade or so, the glasses were recycled for materials - but as so many are plastic, not metal, that became unviable too.
