Toilet Flush Mechanism question

    Please see image below.

    Arrow indicates a (new) piece of bent coat hanger wire connecting the lever arm down to the wire loop.

    Every few months or so the wire loop rusts through and breaks. I get another hanger and shape another piece to do the job.

    I am fed up doing this. What is the correct way to connect the lever arm to the suction part? Can I buy something that will last forever? !!! Name of part?
