    I want to get a new 5.0ah One+ battery, cheapest I've seen is Halfords for €99 .

However I see online you can get generic ones for around halfish that price with apparently decent reviews on their website from this crowd.

Anyone have any experience with these before, what do you think?

Can't help you on the Ryobi but I can say you can get some really good generic batteries. There are some for DeWalt XR tools that are almost half the price and as good as the original.

Look at it another way. I've heard no complaints about the cheap batteries that Lidl sell for their Parkside tools. They are less than half the price of any other brand name batteries. Point being if Lidl can sell good batteries cheap then so can other companies.

Wake me up when it's all over.

I bought cheap "Makita" ones and they didn't last a year.

They had a 5ah sticker but there was no way were 5ah.

Do you know the manufacturer of that one? The ones here are from "VANON" and sold by EPLUSBATTERIES

I'm tempted to risk it for one as the site reviews seem decent and the price is half of the OEM version

Some poor reviews on Amazon despite the headline number of stars.

bear in mind that's coming from the UK so you may get stuck for VAT on the price (including the tenner delivery) - brings the price of that battery delivered to around €70

(also their contact phone number is in China, which is dubious).

If it is for professional use, I would go for Milwalkee, Festool or Makita.

For DIY use I would use tools with Lithium batteries which I wouldn't pay too much for.
