Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Childcare and schools in Brussels

Our family are due to move in August 2023 for 2-3 years before returning to Dublin.

We will likely have a choice between Brussels, Edinburgh and a few other cities. One big factor for us would be availability and affordability of childcare and school. At the time we are due to move our boys would be 1.5 and 4.5 years.

If we were to move to Brussels we’d likely live and work quite centrally. Can anyone give any indications on family life in Brussels, please?

My wife and I have weak French and no Dutch.

Any other insights on the pros and cons of life in Brussels would be much appreciated. Thanks!

You've probably found it already at this stage, but try the 'Irish in Brussels' Facebook group - you get better responses there
