    Hi all,

I don’t have any specific cars in mind so this is a vague question but I’m looking at buying a 2nd family car. We only have a 5 year old so don’t need room for lots of car seats. My mileage wouldn’t be huge as I’m as stay at home dad, mainly local with a once a month trip from Wicklow to Beaumount hospital. Looking to spend between 10000-14000euro.

I’m having trouble deciding, if 2 cars same you like, same model, is lets say €10000, is it better to buy a newer car with higher mileage or an older lower mileage?

I’d like a saloon and If i could pick any car right now to have it’d be an Audi A4 or A5 but for what i can afford I’d be looking at a 2012 Audi A4 with about 170k miles on the clock. Would that be foolish and would i be better looking at a newer Ford Mondeo which i also like?

Do some makes last much longer than others when it comes to age and mileage?

    Thanks in advance
