    Hi, looking for some advice.

I am about to get electrician to put power out to a new shed at back of garden. Planning to run cable from main fuse board in house out to a mini fuse board in shed.

If down the line I decide to get solar and have the inverter in the shed can I connect the inverter to this mini fuse board in shed or would I need a dedicated cable from inverter back to main fuse board?

If I need a dedicated cable back to main fuse board in the house what size cable should be used? Understand it might depend on size of pv system installed but in order to future proof what would be the recommendation?

    Thanks.

You shouldn’t need a separate cable. I have a similar set up and have 10sq which should be more than enough. I would suggest when you are pulling the cable that you also pull 2 or 3 lengths of cat 5 or cat 6 with it so that you can use that for any potential ct clamps you might need later on
