    Hi all,

Traditionally, our European breaks are city-breaks filled with culture during the day and partying at night.

For a chance, we want a 'sponge out' holiday. Something cheap and nasty is fine (think Benidorm style). Basically, somewhere with sun (we know it won't be too warm anywhere in Europe in November), by the sea, but still with a bit of night-life (Doesn't have to be clubbing style, we're mid 30's so just want a bit of activity at night).

Given this is not our typical holiday, we haven't a clue. We looked at Albuferia (fly into Faro), but Google seems to suggest it's pretty dead there in November. Another alternative was Madeira, but weather seems a little un-predictable.

We don't want to spend a fortune, ideally flights no more than €150pp and approx. €100 per night accommodation. It's not that we're tight with money, but this isin't going to be a break of cultural significance, the main agenda here is sponging out, making no plans and just going for drinks in the evening with a bit of small talk with randomers.

as October weekend and mid-term break are late this year, bargains might be hard to find.

^^ Sorry, forgot to add.... We're looking around the 2nd week in November, prices not bad. Madeira / Faro approx. €100 return before you add seats / priority baggage.

Looked at Malaga (as it would certainly tick some boxes going to Torremolinos, as an example) and again, approx. €100 basic.

Safer bet might be somewhere in the Canaries. South of Spain or Portugal weather in mid-November could be questionable.

Canaries for sure, Tenerife or Gran Canaria for the better weather

Lanzarote or Fuerteventura probably nicer but windier

  • You are describing the Canary Islands.

Thanks all. Yes, figured as much that I had basically described the Canaries! Was just putting it out there incase of any other alternatives.

Flights quite reasonable around November time.
