Seems to be quite cold in the kitchen this evening 😳

Had she really been given no guidance or pre instructions

God, Chris Eubank would try the patience of a saint, as my mother used to say. Delighted to see the back of him.

The boy/girl band gang always seem to do well in these - Mel smashing it this week, and the McFly fella carrying on a long McFly success trail across a load of shows - turns out not only can they sing and play, they can dance and skate and cook as well!!

Gareth Malone is one of the most annoying contestants to have been on any version of Masterchef.

    I couldn't disagree more!!

I love him, would watch/ listen to him all day!

But he fairly fecked up in that round - I really thought he'd go further.

That cheese fondue had me absolutely drooling 😋

Mother of Jaysus..... car crash cookery this week 😱

(That's based on the first dish served.... it can only get better from here, surely???)

    Aaand, it didn't!

This is going to be a long week!

But Jamie Bullard is only 43?? 😱

I'm catching up now.... had enough of Kirsty, her angstiness is giving me the twitches.

    I'm loving Jimmy's competitive streak.

They all did alright on the Crepe Suzette challenge .... the Indian one, no idea, I suspect they were all led by the hand through it all.

4 very different brunches getting cooked up here... this will be interesting!!

Delighted to see leslie and Jimmy getting through

OK, clearly Lisa is this week's jockey!

And maybe Katya to keep her company?

Adam's first cauliflower dish, though 😱🤢

    Oh lord..... pasta in pastry???

I'm up there with the champion carb- fiends of this world, but even I would baulk at that!

And as for the absolute wedges of truffle on Ryan's risotto?

Lumps of truffle notwithstanding, he may have pipped Katya in this round!

Nobody sufficiently bothered to comment on this? (me included, in fairness)

Have to say, I've had more than enough of Kitty at this stage - I'm just willing her to fall off her heels or blow an oven up or something. I know it's all ironic and cool (supposedly), but the shtick has worn awfully thin on me by now.

I’m watching it whilst flicking through my phone, my wife is the real reason it’s on. We both like Billie, comes across well as a person.

Bullie?? I've been the last ages trying to figure out who Billie was!

Yeah, I'm a fan as well.

Kitty got a far, far simpler dish than anyone else IMO.... OK, she had to avoid a soggy bottom, but she had pre-rolled pastry, a whole fish, chopped some veg. Others did a whole Sunday roast with all the timings, or equivalent.

Faye's fish looked amazing - and I'm not a fish fan at all.

I mean... I know they couldn't have organised it..... but htf did they manage to have the queen's jubilee celebration dishes on the week she's lying in state?? 😱

Sure wasn't it supposed to be on last Thurs, the day she died..

My mother was amazed they did a tribute to the Queen so soon after her death, until I explained. 😂

Kitty getting the easy gig again - only one dish, where the others are all juggling at least two each 🙄

And John helping her to build it.

And she forgot to bake half of her profiteroles.

Hopefully that's the end of her.

We’re only on episode 31 btw, watching it on the sky box, too busy during the week to keep up.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 27,754 Mod ✭✭✭✭Posy

I thought John should have assisted with taking the profiteroles off the tower though, considering it was supposed to be presented at an occasion.

Or had a back up dessert in the freezer, just in case. 😂

Well deserved winner, her food in the last few rounds was just amazing

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 30,051 ✭✭✭✭HeidiHeidi

Well if I never hear Lisa and Mel screeching and shrieking and yelping again, it'll be too soon.

And Danny heehawing wasn't far behind.

But that aside, what a great final. Three fantastic meals, that was the most difficult to call final i can remember - any of them could have won it.

Mother of God, how many calories did James's desert contain??? A heart attack on a plate right there!

No big duds among them tonight, in fairness.
