l bought an old laptop acer 4gig ram, windows 7 , it works fine, Great sound, plays music video ok.

the only problem, is if turn on laptop ,screen appears ,press f2 to Setup , it beeps very loudly for 20 seconds ,then it loads up ,windows as normal, plugging in headphones makes no difference, the beep is from the motherboard, it does not go to audio out,3.5mm

I did not go into bios menu yet.it may be looking for a device thats disabled ,maybe the original 500 gig drive or some other device was replaced, or disabled

would going to bios ,set fastboot =on fix it

could be a loose connection inside the laptop (i've seen that in the past cause it)

open it up and check ribbon type connections etc by giving them a push
