    Passed by the canal about 7.30pm this evening and the two sides of the canal was cordened off and lots of Gardai around.

    Anyone know what happened? There's nothing on the news sites.

    I went past at 4.30 pm and there were Gardai there too, so whatever it was, kept them there for a few hours.

    Water Unit was there when I passed around 4.30. Passed the Drumcondra end around 7 and they were dragging the canal.

    Helicopter was hovering around the area too before moving slowly off along NCR. Not sure if related.

    Just read a small piece in the paper that they are searching for a missing person. Somebody must have fallen in. They had to stop the search at 9pm when it got dark. They are resuming it today.

    Heard today that this was about murder victim found in Drumcondra yesterday. Strange that it's all so hush hush.
