It was 18 months ago, you are not using the money which people gifted to you for the house rebuild - how long does your husband believe you have to wear the hair shirt for?
I understand that there will always be people who will frown upon you taking a holiday whether now or in 10 years time, there is nothing you can do about that.
You should move on with your life and includes taking holidays, on this occasion there is even a special reason to go.
