Hi Guys, banged the car onto the gate and has left a rear side dent.

Have been quoted Eur 300 for just fixing the dent and spraying the back door and Eur 600 for spraying the rear , front and the back side for a smooth look.

Would this be the best way to go? Won't be going via the insurance company as the excess is 700+.

If I get a rear door from a breaker, does it have to be the same colour?

Best option would be to get a door from a scrapyard. But its only worthwhile if its the same colour.

If you just respray the door without blending it into the other panels it will be noticeable that it was resprayed.

    Thanks pal.

I am not sure how source the right colour. Found an online quote for under 300 , but not sure what to do if the colour isn't the same.

Even the same colour won't guarantee a match from another car especially if the cars are a few years old. A car's colour can naturally fade at different levels depending on the car and where it's spent it's life up to now. Even if you find another door in red too, you could end up having to get it sprayed to blend it in with the other panels. Red can be very unforgiving when it comes to fading and matching.

Thx guys. I guess best would be to go the Eur 600 route (for spraying the rear , front and the back side after welding)
