Should you check the your length yourself before leaving the barbers?

I've been thinking that from now on I should check the length of my own hair in the mirror before I get up and leave. Only thing is the person giving the cut might find this quite offensive... for me to pull a hand out and check the length while they're at a break from cutting. But I've had too many barbers who do scissors cuts on the top part that end up getting it uneven. A good barber will have a method for checking that it's all even before the finish, but many but many don't do this. And if they mess up, it's quite hard for the next barber not to repeat the same mistake.

You really have issues with everyday situations. Of course it's fine to check the cut and to ask the barber to tweak it if you want them to. No barber would be offended. Many will ask if it's okay for you before finishing.

I completely disagree with that. I'm saying this now because I've done it since, a got bad reactions. You never see anyone else take their hands out from underneath the cloak during the haircut. The barber just would not be used to it, and could possibly view it as you telling them that you think they are incompetent.

    3 and a half month later. 🙄

I don't accept that any barber would give a 'bad reaction to a customer checking the length and cut are what they want. You're over thinking and misreading the situation. Disagree all you like but it's absolutely the norm.
