Hot Water Cylinder with built in Heatpump

    Hi,

A bit torn on whether Renewables or Heating and Plumbing is the best place for this one...

I am looking at changing up my hot water heating system a bit to make it more efficient. I have seen quite a few stainless steel hot water cylinders with a built in heat pump on top of them - the idea being that you feed the heat pump with warm-ish air and ~800W of electrical power and it converts this into approx 3kW of heating energy (like a 3kW immersion). It all sounds great.

Does anybody here have experience of these? How well do/are they working?

    Thanks,

    Mike
