Installed Kombi boiler but refit hot water tank to utilize hot water through solar? (Heat pump too?)

    Hey guys,

We got an Kombi Ideal Vogue fitted last year January and it dropped our electricity usage substantially. We went down from around 4132kWh a year to 2897kWh for year 2021 which is great but obviously the gas bill was a bit higher than usual but that was expected.

Anyway, when the guys fitted the boiler we had a hot water tank with immersion heater in the hotpress which they took out as it was an old rig regardless but piping is pretty much still there.

I am thinking now to get a hot water tank back as we are planning to get a PV solar system inc. battery installed in September to utilize the energy to warm the water. The size of the PV system considers that addition.

Is it much of a big cost and deal to get a hot water tank back in place? Any recommendation in regards to hot water tanks?

Is it possible to have a hybrid system in place of kombi boiler and heat pump in place and how much of a deal is the installation? Would there be additional piping necessary for the heat pump or does the heat pump use the existing radiators and piping?

    Thanks for reading folks.
